What is PixelFit?
PixelFit is a first of its kind, patent pending, C9 Retrofit RGB lighting system. Not like the other guys, these bulbs are individually addressed, so they can do repeating patterns and even motion based patterns.
Will this product use my existing SPT socket wire?
Yes, it’s designed to be 100% retrofit to existing systems. once you have the power supply and controller plugged into your existing socket wire, screw the bulbs in.
What happens if I forget the Power supply and plug directly into the outlet with the PixelFit bulbs installed in the socket wire.
They die, every last bulb. The bulbs are 24VDC and very much need the power supply and controller. This is not a warranty issue. Care must be taken to prevent this situation, we recommend electrical tape or zip ties be used to prevent the plug from being removed from the controller.
I have to address these bulbs? Is that complicated?
No, its just a process of screwing them in one at a time after a color change.
I plugged it in and the first light won't go on like in the video.
Its not broken, unless you ignored the warning labels and question #3. More than likely you just have a wire backwards in a plug end. SPT wire has a polarity, the ribbed wire goes to the fat plug. If you have any plugs on backwards in the job it will not work correctly. For more information on plugs, we have this handy video below.
How many colors and effects on the PixelFit bulbs?
There are a total of 29 color combinations and 9 different effects. The color combinations cover most major holidays and some of the effects are static and some are motion based. For a full list:
How many bulbs can I run?
A single power supply and controller can handle up to 300 lights. One remote can be paired to multiple controllers to expand the capabilities.
What if the building has a bunch of jumpers, with dormers and peaks all over the place.
That just requires a little more attention to detail. Do the main run of the building first with the addressing and then you can create the splits with the “Add Code” button method explained in the training video.
